Missouri river carp on fly

Carp fishing with a fly rod is a new and exciting sport that is becoming very popular. What better place to learn the fishing techniques for the "Golden King" than in a beautiful Montana setting. Fishing is done float fishing and/or wading. It is 100% sight fishing for fish in the 5-25lb range. The strategies are very similair to bonefishing. A fish is spotted and a weighted fly is presented accuratly and quietly,(occasionally they will also take dries!). The fish will mud or tail on the fly and the angler strip strikes the fish, then hang on as the carp makes an impressive run. Carp fishing is best from mid July-mid September. This is a great day to add on to your trout fishing schedule!
